Regular Season Round 4: Musel Pikes - Racing 66-37
Date: October 14, 2012
Bottom-ranked Racing is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to fourth ranked Musel Pikes (2-1) 66-37 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Musel Pikes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Racing to just 5 points in first quarter. Musel Pikes held Racing to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Racing 53-28 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American power forward Amanda Stowe (186-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and international Magaly Meynadier (17-91) supported her with 12 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists. Musel Pikes' coach Erny Gruskovnjak felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by American swingman Alissa Pierce (177-86) did not help to save the game for Racing. Her fellow American import power forward Celeste Stevenson (180-82, college: W.Texas A&M) added 9 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with AB Contern. Loser Racing still closes the standings with three games lost. Musel Pikes will meet at home AB Contern (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Racing will have a break next round.
