Bnei Hasharon (3-5) survived in overtime against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (5-4) by eight points 96-88 on Monday night. The game took place in Tel-Aviv. But the guests from Hod Hasharon were better at the end. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime then Hapoel Tel-Aviv managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Bnei Hasharon who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-7. American forward Jumaine Jones (203-79, college: Georgia) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Mexican swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 29 points. American point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) produced 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Bnei Hasharon and five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Elizur Ashkelon. Newly promoted Hapoel Tel-Aviv dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M and Netanya. Bnei Hasharon is looking forward to face higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel J-M in Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
