A very interesting game took place in Kiryat Gat. It ended with only three-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (0-1) to leader Hod Hasharon (1-0) 76-73 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi K/G won third quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hod Hasharon made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Nigerian power forward Chukwudinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: N.E.T.) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Hod Hasharon keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Maccabi K/G still closes the standings with one game lost.
