Regular Season Round 4: Rouen - Bourg 79-75

The most important game in the last round took place in Rouen between third ranked JL Bourg (2-2) and fourteenth ranked SPO Rouen (2-2) on Tuesday night. JL Bourg was defeated by SPO Rouen in a tough game on the road 75-79. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-20. But JL Bourg won second period 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SPO Rouen made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. SPO Rouen outrebounded JL Bourg 41-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard O'Darien Bassett (191-86, college: Troy) who added 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward David Monds (205-83, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Philippe Braud (194-85) scored 24 points. SPO Rouen moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated JL Bourg. SPO Rouen is looking forward to face Chalons-Reims (#6) on the road in the next round. JL Bourg will play against Charleville-Mezieres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
