Regular Season Round 9: Trouville - Sayago 83-62
Date: October 17, 2012
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Montevideo where 9th ranked Sayago (3-4) was crushed by tenth ranked Trouville (4-5) 83-62 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Trouville. Sayago was better in second period 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trouville forced 22 Sayago turnovers. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and guard Claudio Bascou (189-89) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Terence Shellman (198-78) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Stanley Jones (208-86, college: Francis Marion, agency: Gamble Sports Management) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trouville moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Welcome. Loser Sayago dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
