Very important is a road loss of third ranked Aguada (6-3) against fourth ranked Bigua (6-2) on Wednesday night. Visiting Aguada was defeated by Bigua in a tough game in Montevideo 83-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aguada. Aguada was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 21-13 third quarter run of Bigua. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Aguada's 32. American forward Chris Jeffries (199-80, college: Wash.-St.Louis) nailed 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Anthony Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) accounted for 20 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Christopher Hayes (206-87, college: Detroit Mercy) came up with 27 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and naturalized Italian guard Leandro Garcia Morales (186-80, college: Texas A&M) added 32 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively for Aguada in the defeat. Five Bigua and four Aguada players scored in double figures. Bigua have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Un.Atletica. Aguada at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
