Regular Season Round 5: HoNsU - BC Nokia 81-57

Bottom-ranked BC Nokia (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-57 loss to seventh ranked HoNsU (2-2) in Jyvaskyla. Power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (183-90) nailed 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Laura Lahtinen (174-86) accounted for 8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four HoNsU players scored in double figures. American guard Amani Franklin (180-88, college: Kentucky) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and guard Katri Menna (170-86) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for BC Nokia in the defeat. BC Nokia's coach Antti Hyvarinen gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. HoNsU moved-up to sixth place, which they share with FoA. BC Nokia lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with four games lost. HoNsU will have a break next round. BC Nokia will play on the road against Forssan Alku (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
