Very important is a road loss of third ranked Stjarnan (2-1) against seventh ranked Snaefell (2-1) on Thursday night. Visiting Stjarnan was defeated by Snaefell in Stykkisholmur 110-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stjarnan. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 110-94. Snaefell shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Asim McQueen (203-88, college: Tulane, agency: Dream Team Management) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) accounted for 16 points and 11 assists for the winning side. Naturalized American guard Justin Shouse (180-81, college: Mercyhurst) came up with 31 points and 8 assists and swingman Marvin Valdimarsson (198-81) added 29 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Stjarnan in the defeat. Snaefell keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Stjarnan. Snaefell will meet KR (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Stjarnan will play against Thor Thorl (#3) in Thorlakshofn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
