An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osaka. Leader Toyota Alvark faced 3rd placed Panasonic Trians. Guests from Fuchu (6-0) defeated host Panasonic Trians (4-2) 80-64. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). His fellow American import forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 16 points. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who recorded 23 points and American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively.
