Regular Season Round 3: Leiden - Amsterdam 84-64

Date: October 20, 2012
Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Amsterdam (0-3) was outscored on the road by leader Leiden (3-0) 84-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-64. Leiden outrebounded Amsterdam 36-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). International guard Arvin Slagter (191-85, agency: Court Side) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international guard Aaron Roye (185-88) answered with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Jeremy Ormskerk (190-82, agency: Court Side) added 21 points in the effort for Amsterdam. Amsterdam's coach Tyronne Marioneaux rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Leiden have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Den Bosch and Groningen. Loser Amsterdam still closes the standings with three games lost. Leiden will face Rotterdam (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Amsterdam will play against Weert and hopes to get finally their first victory.
