Regular Season Round 3: Kronos AD - GAC Eunikos 89-36

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked GAC Eunikos (0-3) was smashed on the road by seventh ranked Kronos AD (2-1) 89-36. The game without a history. Kronos AD led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GAC Eunikos to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. Kronos AD dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to GAC Eunikos' 24. Kronos AD forced 32 GAC Eunikos turnovers and outrebounded them 38-22 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kronos AD players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by GAC Eunikos' players. The best player for the winners was forward Maria Xanthou (185-82) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Anastasia Gotzi chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Kronos AD players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Anastasia Tserou who recorded 12 points and 4 steals and Nikolina Ioannidou (174-94) added 10 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kronos AD moved-up to fourth place, which they share with PAOK and Terpsithea. GAC Eunikos at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Kronos AD's next round opponent will be higher ranked Panathinaikos (#3) in Athens and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GAC Eunikos will play at home against the league's second-placed Athinaikos (#2) in Athens and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
