Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Valmadrera (0-3) lost at home to sixth ranked Muggia (2-1) 55-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. Muggia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Valmadrera turnovers. It was a good game for Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Lara Cumbat (177-88) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Silvia Scudiero (182-82) answered with 10 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Morena Capiaghi (177-86) added 7 points in the effort for Valmadrera. Valmadrera's coach Tiziano Gualtieri tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Muggia moved-up to third place in North, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Valmadrera still closes the standings with three games lost. Muggia will face Marghera (#10) in Venezia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valmadrera will play at home against Cremona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
