Regular Season Round 3: Aishin SH - Toshiba BT 75-77

Another exciting game took place in Kariya where first ranked Toshiba Thunders (5-1) edged by two points 4th placed Aishin Sea Horses (4-2) 77-75. It was a good game for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Senegalese swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite that victory Toshiba Thunders went down to second position due to points difference. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Panasonic T.. Toshiba Thunders will play against Panasonic Trians (#4) in Osaka in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play on the road against the league's leader Toyota Alvark in Fuchu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
