Regular Season Round 3: Den Helder K. - M.Magixx 95-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of M.Magixx (2-1) on the court of fourth ranked Den Helder K. on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Den Helder K. 95-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of M.Magixx. The game was mostly controlled by Den Helder K.. M.Magixx managed to win third quarter 27-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Den Helder K. forced 20 M.Magixx turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by M.Magixx helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Mark Hill (180, college: CS Northridge, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward Storm Warren (200-88, college: LSU) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Den Helder K.'s coach Jean-Marc Jaumin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (198-87) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for M.Magixx. Five Den Helder K. and four M.Magixx players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Den Helder K. went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Leeuwarden. M.Magixx at the other side keeps the fourth place with one game lost. Den Helder K. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. M.Magixx will play at home against the league's second-placed Groningen (#2) in Groningen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
