Sixth-ranked Chiba Jets (1-2) gave a tough game to top-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (5-0) on Saturday. Iwate Big Bulls managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chiba Jets won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Iwate Big Bulls won last quarter 24-25. American center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Top Notch Sports) fired 23 points for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (208-80, college: La Salle, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Cros.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman D'Andre Bell (198-87, college: Georgia Tech) added 26 points respectively for lost side. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Loser Chiba Jets dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with Saitama Bron. and Miyazaki SS. Iwate Big Bulls will again meet at home Chiba Jets (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Chiba Jets will have a break next round.
