Regular Season Round 2: Gospic - Novi Zagreb 81-85

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Gospic (1-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Lupa Promotion (2-0) 85-81. Gospic was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 26-14 third quarter run of Lupa Promotion. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gospic's 34. The former international guard Sandra Mandir (177-77) notched 18 points to lead the effort and American guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) supported her with 15 points. Even 15 points by American guard Chevon Keith (178-86, college: W.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Gospic. Guard Monika Bosilj (178-85, college: FIU) added 18 points for the hosts. Four Lupa Promotion and five Gospic players scored in double figures. Lupa Promotion will play against Croatia 2006 in Zagreb in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gospic will play on the road against ZKK Medvescak in Zagreb to get more than just one victory in their record.
