Everything went according to plan when leader Min.Battipaglia (2-0) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Consum.it Siena (0-3) 61-43 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Min.Battipaglia. Consum.it Siena was better in third quarter 11-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Min.Battipaglia dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Consum.it Siena's 28. It was a good game for Dutch Kourtney Treffers (186-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Patrizia De Gianni (191-88) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Valentina Piroli (188-82) answered with 8 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Caterina Bozzi (165-92) added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Consum.it Siena. Min.Battipaglia moved-up to second place in South. Loser Consum.it Siena still closes the standings with three games lost. Min.Battipaglia will face Salerno (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Consum.it Siena will play against Meccanica NB in Bologna and hopes to get finally their first victory.
