Regular Season Round 4: Start Gdynia - AZS Koszalin 83-73

Start Gdynia's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked AZS Koszalin (2-2) 83-73. The game was mostly controlled by Start Gdynia. AZS Koszalin was better in third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Start Gdynia made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. AZS Koszalin was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Michal Jankowski (192-87) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Start Gdynia players scored in double figures. At the losing side international guard Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton County CC, agency: Promotex) responded with 22 points (made all of his seven free throws) and American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Start Gdynia (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Anwil and Rosa Radom. AZS Koszalin at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Start Gdynia will play against bottom-ranked Kotwica (#12) in Kolobrzeg in the next round. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Polpharma (#8) in Starogard and hopes to get back on the winning track.
