Important game to mention about took place in Canberra. Eighth ranked Canberra Capitals (2-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Bulleen Boomers (1-3) 75-74 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 31-24. But Bulleen Boomers won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Canberra Capitals made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Bulleen Boomers turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international guard Jessica Bibby (169-79) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points. The former international guard Nicole Hunt (167-88) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Canberra Capitals players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international Rachel Jarry (185-91) with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and swingman Alice Kunek (186-91) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Canberra Capitals moved-up to fifth place. Bulleen Boomers at the other side keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with West Coast. Canberra Capitals will play against Logan Thunder (#6) in Loganholme in the next round. Bulleen Boomers will play at home against Townsville Fire to get more than just one victory in their record.
