The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Nantes Reze (4-1) on the court of seventh ranked Perpignan on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Perpignan 93-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Nantes Reze. The game without a history. Perpignan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.1 percent from the field. Perpignan outrebounded Nantes Reze 32-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. American swingman Angie Bjorklund (183-89, college: Tennessee) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Australian center Abby Bishop (189-88) contributed with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Perpignan's coach Francois Gomez felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ukrainian-Bulgarian center Viktoria Mircheva (190-87) answered with 15 points and Latvian forward Gunta Basko (181-80, college: Siena, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 12 points in the effort for Nantes Reze. Perpignan (3-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Nantes Reze at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Bourges. Perpignan is looking forward to face Aix-en-Provence (#8) in Les Milles in the next round. Nantes Reze will play at home against Mondeville (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
