Regular Season Round 4: Takamatsu FA - Okinawa GK 66-84
Date: October 20, 2012
Very significant was Okinawa GK's (#1) 18-point road victory against one of their biggest challengers Takamatsu FA 84-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Takamatsu FA. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Takamatsu FA was better in second period 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The winners were led by Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) supported him with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) did not help to save the game for Takamatsu FA. Swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 14 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Takamatsu FA's coach Kenzo Maeda rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Okinawa GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record, which they share with Akita NH and Shimane SM. Takamatsu FA at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Okinawa GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Takamatsu FA will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
