Regular Season Round 5: Shiga L-Stars - Osaka Evessa 74-67

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Osaka Evessa (0-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (3-1) 74-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-67. Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Nathan Walkup (200-88, college: Texas A&M, agency: SDJ Sports) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Oita H.Devils and Shinshu BW. Osaka Evessa lost their fourth game in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face league's leader Okinawa GK on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
