Regular Season Round 10: Aishin AW - Niigata 60-74

Bottom-ranked Aishin Wings is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to ninth ranked Niigata (3-5) 74-60 on Sunday evening. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Niigata's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-14 extending their advantage to 14 points. It was a very good performance for swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Nozomi Hoshino (164-87) contributed with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Niigata players scored in double figures. Power forward Kiyoko Hamaguti (181-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and forward Aya Goto (173-89) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Wings. Niigata moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ebara Vickies. Loser Aishin Wings still closes the standings with eight games lost. Niigata will face higher ranked Toyota B SR (#7) in Aichi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aishin Wings will play at home against Yamanashi QB (#12) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
