Regular Season Round 4: Asseco Prok. - Stelmet ZG 73-70

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Stelmet ZG (3-1) in Gdynia on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Asseco Prok. (3-1) 73-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stelmet ZG. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Stelmet ZG won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asseco Prok. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) replied with 29 points and 8 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) added 17 points and 4 steals in the effort for Stelmet ZG. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Stelmet ZG and Trefl Sopot. Asseco Prok. is looking forward to face league's leader PGE Turow in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stelmet ZG will play at home against Trefl Sopot and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
