Regular Season Round 3: Panasonic T. - Toyota Alvark 71-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osaka. Leader Toyota Alvark faced 3rd placed Panasonic Trians. Guests from Fuchu (6-0) defeated host Panasonic Trians (4-2) 85-71. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Panasonic Trians was better in fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota Alvark forced 19 Panasonic Trians turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) came up with 24 points and Swedish Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Panasonic Trians in the defeat. Four Panasonic Trians players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Panasonic Trians at the other side keep the third place with two games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be Aishin Sea Horses (#3) in Kariya, which may be the game of the day. Panasonic Trians will play on the road against the league's second-placed Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
