Very expected game when 12th ranked Tezenis VE (1-2) was defeated on the road by leader Tuscany Pistoia (3-0) 67-51 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tuscany Pistoia. Tezenis VE was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tezenis VE to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Tuscany Pistoia forced 22 Tezenis VE turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Riccardo Cortese (195-86) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Tuscany Pistoia's coach Paolo Moretti allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tuscany Pistoia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Biancoblu BO. Loser Tezenis VE dropped to the ninth place with two games lost. Tuscany Pistoia will face league's leader Biancoblu BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tezenis VE will play at home against Sigma Barcellona (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
