Regular Season Round 4: Cantu - Enel Brindisi 84-80
Date: October 21, 2012
Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Cantu (3-1) defeated at home 12th ranked Enel Brindisi (1-3) 84-80 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. It was a very good performance for Belgian Beye Tabu-Eboma (184-85) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. American-Israeli center Alex Tyus (205-88, college: Florida) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Cantu players scored in double figures. American point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) replied with 33 points (!!!) and his fellow American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Enel Brindisi. Enel Brindisi's coach Pier Luigi Bucchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cantu moved-up to third place, which they share with Montepaschi and SAIE3 BO. Newly promoted Enel Brindisi dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Cantu will face league's second-placed Cimberio Varese on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Enel Brindisi will play against Umana Venezia (#15).
