Regular Season Round 10: Fujitsu RW - Ebara Vickies 73-51

WJBL top team - Fujitsu RW (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Ebara Vickies (3-5) in Kawasaki 73-51. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Fujitsu RW dominated on the defensive end, holding Ebara Vickies to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ebara Vickies' 24. They outrebounded Ebara Vickies 45-30 including 22 on the offensive glass. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) supported her with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Fujitsu RW's coach Yabuuchi Natsumi felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by guard Inamoto Satoko (165-84) did not help to save the game for Ebara Vickies. Swingman Misako Rikuden (172-86) added 11 points for lost side. Fujitsu RW have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Ebara Vickies lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Niigata. Fujitsu RW will meet at home Toyota A. (#5) in the next round. Ebara Vickies will play against Hitachi Cougars in Hitachinaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
