Regular Season Round 4: EA7 Armani - Acea Virtus RM 87-82

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Armani Milano (2-2) beat at home 6th ranked Lottomatica Roma (2-2) 87-82 on Monday. Lottomatica Roma trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 22-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-87 at the end of the game. Armani Milano made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. It was a very good performance for center Ioannis Bourousis (213-83, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Armani Milano's coach Sergio Scariolo used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. International forward Luigi Datome (203-87) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Phil Goss (186-83, college: Drexel) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lottomatica Roma. Four Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. Armani Milano moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Lottomatica Roma. Armani Milano will face Trenkwalder RE (#14) in Reggio Emilia in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
