Very significant was Grodno-93's (#2, 2-0) victory against leader Sozh Gomel (2-1) 86-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sozh Gomel. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sozh Gomel won fourth quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sozh Gomel 42-21 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international center Yury Mishukov (205-85) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Dzmitry Kuzmin (196-75) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian forward Sergei Dadukin (198-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) added 24 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Grodno-93 (2-0) keeps a position of league leader. Loser Sozh Gomel dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Tsmoki-Minsk II. Grodno-93 will meet at home Tsmoki-Minsk II (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sozh Gomel will play against Impuls BGUIR in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
