Regular Season Round 4: Grindavik - Njardvik 107-81

Very expected game when 10th ranked Njardvik (1-3) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Grindavik (3-1) 107-81 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Njardvik was better in fourth quarter 30-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Grindavik forced 24 Njardvik turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Njardvik's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle, agency: JEMsports) who added 21 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Marcus Van (201-85, college: Cent.Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds and swingman Agust Orrason (191-93) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Grindavik and four Njardvik players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Njardvik lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Grindavik will face IR (#9) in Reykjavik in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Njardvik will play at home against Stjarnan.
