Regular Season Round 4: Toshiba BT - Panasonic T. 76-89
Date: October 26, 2012
An interesting game was also home defeat of 3rd ranked Toshiba Thunders in a game in Kanagawa versus Panasonic Trians (#2) 89-76. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 58-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by international guard Hiroki Watanabe (180-88) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 assists and international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) did not help to save the game for Toshiba Thunders. Senegalese swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware) added 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panasonic Trians maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Toshiba Thunders lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Aishin SH. Panasonic Trians will meet at home Mitsubishi Dolphins (#6) in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play against the league's leader Toyota Alvark in Fuchu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
