The game between second ranked Olimpico de La Banda (9-4) and eighth ranked La Union (2-11) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Olimpico de La Banda was crushed by La Union in Formosa 58-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olimpico de La Banda. The game was mostly controlled by La Union. Olimpico de La Banda managed to win fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Gregory Lewis (200-78, college: Winthrop, agency: Dream Team Management) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Kyle Lamonte (191-84, college: William Carey) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Lamonte is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW, agency: Pro One Sports) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico de La Banda. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Union maintains eighth place in North with 2-11 record. Olimpico de La Banda at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. La Union are looking forward to face higher ranked Atenas (#6) in Cordoba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpico de La Banda will play on the road against Union Progresista (#7) in Villa Angela and is hoping to win this game.
