Regular Season Round 4: Clavijo - Coruna 80-83

The most exciting game of round 4 in the LEB Gold took place in Logrono. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked CB Clavijo (2-2) to top-ranked Leyma Basquet (4-0) 83-80 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CB Clavijo. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-80. Worth to mention a great performance of Ivorian-American forward Jonathan Kale (203-85, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 15 points. Guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-85, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 11 points for the winners. point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) replied with 14 points and 8 assists and guard Borja Arevalo (193-91) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for CB Clavijo. Four CB Clavijo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leyma Basquet have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Andorra. CB Clavijo at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Leyma Basquet is looking forward to face FCB Regal II (#5) in Barcelona in the next round. CB Clavijo will play on the road against Planasa NV in Pamplona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
