Eighteenth-ranked Denain Voltaire (0-6) was very close to win a game against second ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (5-1) on Friday. Pau-Lacq-Orthez managed to secure only three-point victory 92-89. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 28-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Denain Voltaire only scored seven points from the stripe. Pau-Lacq-Orthez used an opportunity after Antibes lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Denain Voltaire still closes the standings with six games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet Nantes (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Denain Voltaire will play against Aix-Maurienne in Aix-les-Bains and hopes to get finally their first victory.
