Regular Season Round 6: Hoganas - Boras II 97-100

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Basketettan took place in Hoganas. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Hoganas (3-4) to fourth ranked Boras II (5-2) 100-97 on Saturday evening. Hoganas trailed by 24 points after 3 quarters before a 35-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 97-100 at the end of the game. Boras II made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Hoganas outrebounded Boras II 32-16 including a 21-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Richard Maraker (198-84, college: CS Stanislaus) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mohamed Nefatti (196-84) chipped in 21 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian center Paulus Barauskas (201-81) with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Aurimas Baltrokonis (190-83) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boras II moved-up to third place in South. Hoganas at the other side keep the seventh position with four games lost. Boras II are looking forward to face Haga Haninge (#4) on the road in the next round. Hoganas will have a break next round.
