Regular Season Round 4: Biassono - San Martino 45-68

A2 top team - San Martino (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Biassono (1-3) 68-45. San Martino dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Biassono's 22. San Martino forced 25 Biassono turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for the former international power forward Martina Sandri (185-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Slovenian forward Lea Jagodic (182-91) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Sara Canova (174-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Giulia Porro (166-95) added 9 points and 8 steals in the effort for Biassono. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Martino have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 4-0 record, which they share with Umana Reyer. Biassono at the other side dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. San Martino's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Umana Reyer in Venezia and it will be for sure the game of the week. Biassono will play at home against Muggia (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
