Regular Season Round 11: Aishin AW - Yamanashi QB 95-49

Aishin Wings has finally registered their first victory this season after eight consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Yamanashi QB (0-9) 95-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aishin Wings led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 34. Aishin Wings forced 27 Yamanashi QB turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aishin Wings made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Mai Yoshida (170-85) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Power forward Mika Okada (174-87) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Honoka Osanai (168-90) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Wings (1-8) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Hitachi Cougars. It was Yamanashi QB's ninth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost. Aishin Wings will again meet bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (#12) on the road in the next round. Yamanashi QB will have a break next round.
