Regular Season Round 6: Kyoto Hannar. - Fukuoka Rizing 84-92

Bottom-ranked Kyoto Hannar. (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-84 loss to seventh ranked Fukuoka Rizing (2-3) in Kyoto. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kyoto Hannar. won fourth quarter 28-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) notched 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) did not help to save the game for Kyoto Hannar.. His fellow American import forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah, agency: Top Notch Sports) added 20 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
