Regular Season Round 4: SMS PZKosz - Wilki Morskie 85-92

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated SMS PZKosz (3-1) in Wladyslawowo on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Wilki Morskie (3-1) 92-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SMS PZKosz. It was a key game for the top position in Group A as both teams had the same 2-1 record before this meeting. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-14. But SMS PZKosz won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wilki Morskie dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to SMS PZKosz's 42. Wilki Morskie had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 16-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Marcin Stoklosa (188-77) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists for the winners. point guard Leszek Kaczmarski (187-94) answered with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Damian Jeszke (202-95) added 17 points in the effort for SMS PZKosz. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wilki Morskie have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated SMS PZKosz. Wilki Morskie is looking forward to face MKS Skierniew. (#6) in Skierniewice in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SMS PZKosz will play on the road against GTK Gdynia (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
