There was no surprise in Valladolid where 9th ranked Blancos de Rueda (2-3) was defeated by third ranked Gescrap BB (4-1) 76-70 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Blancos de Rueda won third quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gescrap BB made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84, agency: FCM) who scored 24 points. The former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79) chipped in 10 points. Serbian guard Uros Tripkovic (197-86) produced 24 points and forward Nacho Martin (205-83) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gescrap BB have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Blancos de Rueda at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Gescrap BB will face Unicaja Malaga (#5) at home in the next round. Blancos de Rueda will play against the league's second-placed Asefa Estudiantes (#2) in Madrid.
