Regular Season Round 6: Hamamatsu P. - Shimane SM 99-86

Undefeated Shimane Magic (4-1) recorded its first loss in Mikawa on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (4-3) 99-86. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Shimane Magic managed to win third quarter 30-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: Top Notch Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Tatsuhiro Yokoo (186-85) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to fourth place. Shimane Magic at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Shinshu BW and Oita H.Devils. Hamamatsu Phoenix are again looking forward to face higher ranked Shimane Magic (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Shimane Magic will have a break next round.
