There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Niigata Albirex (2-3) edged at home higher ranked Yokohama BC (2-1) 78-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 21-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont, agency: Top Notch Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul, agency: Top Notch Sports) who recorded 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Senegalese center Pape Faye (200-87) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Niigata Albirex and four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Niigata Albirex moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the fifth position with one game lost. Niigata Albirex will face again higher ranked Yokohama BC (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
