Regular Season Round 6: Souffel - Vichy 68-49

Date: October 27, 2012
Rather predictable result when top-ranked Souffelweyersheim (5-0) rolled over 6th ranked JA Vichy (3-3) in Souffel. 68-49. It looked good early as JA Vichy took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Souffelweyersheim had a 12-9 second period charge getting the lead and JA Vichy was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 49-68. Souffelweyersheim players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by JA Vichy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Jeremy Tschamber (192-84) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Rida El Amrani (180-86) who recorded 12 points and 4 assists and Octavio Da Silveira (204-89) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Souffelweyersheim have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cognac and Blois. JA Vichy at the other side dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Souffelweyersheim's next round opponent will be Rueil (#13) on the road which should be an easy win for them. JA Vichy will play against Quimper UJAP (#5) and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
