Regular Season Round 6: Chiba Jets - Shinshu BW 76-83

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Chiba Jets (1-4) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Shinshu BW (4-1) 83-76 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chiba Jets won fourth quarter 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Takato Saito (181-85) chipped in 18 points. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Cros.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds and Cameroonian forward Serge Angounou (202-83, college: Arizona St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Shinshu BW moved-up to second place, which they share with Shimane SM and Oita H.Devils. Chiba Jets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Chiba Jets will play again at home against Shinshu BW (#4) in Nagano.
