Leader Wisla Can-Pak blasted bottom-ranked Widzew (0-7) in Krakow 87-64 keeping the perfect record after 7 rounds. Widzew is still unable to win any game. Widzew was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 53-26 second half run of Wisla Can-Pak. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Widzew to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Wisla Can-Pak forced 21 Widzew turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including 31 on the defensive glass. Widzew was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Belgian swingman Anke De Mondt (175-79) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Katarzyna Krezel (184-85, college: UTEP) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Wisla Can-Pak players scored in double figures. Widzew's coach Elzbieta Trzesniewska gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Wisla Can-Pak. Defending champion (6-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Artego Bydg. Widzew lost their seventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. Wisla Can-Pak will play against Energa Torun (#4) on the road in the next round. Widzew will play against PTK Pabianice (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
