Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Alghero and 6th ranked Udine had identical 2-1 record. This time Alghero used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Udine 72-64 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 46-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Alghero made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Udine turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandra Chesta (187-82, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and center Costanza Giorgi (185-89) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side forward Arianna Zampieri (183-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Brazilian swingman Tayara Madonna (173-91) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Alghero and five Udine players scored in double figures. Alghero have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Milano. Loser Udine dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Alghero will face Marghera (#5) in Venezia in the next round. Udine will play at home against Milano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
