Regular Season Round 7: Huima - FoA 71-86

The most shocking disappointment of round 7 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Aanekosken (3-3) by sixth ranked Forssan Alku (4-2) who outscored them by 15 points 86-71. It ended the two-game winning streak of Aanekosken. The game was mostly controlled by Forssan Alku. Aanekosken managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forssan Alku made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for international guard Henna Salomaa (175-89, college: Oakland) who led her team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!) (made all of her nine free throws !!!). American point guard Sarah Miles (170-89, college: W.Virginia) helped adding 17 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American swingman Jasmin Holliday (182-90, college: Oregon) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Aanekosken's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forssan Alku have a solid series of three victories in a row. Forssan Alku moved-up to fourth place. Aanekosken at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Forssan Alku is looking forward to face Kerava Energia Team (#8) at home in the next round. Aanekosken will have a break next round.
