Regular Season Round 4: Bologna - Siena 73-41
Date: October 27, 2012
Very expected game in Bologna where bottom-ranked Consum.it Siena (0-4) was crushed by fourth ranked Meccanica NB (3-1) 73-41 on Saturday. The game without a history. Meccanica NB led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Consum.it Siena to just 7 points in second quarter. Meccanica NB forced 21 Consum.it Siena turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of British center Dominique Allen (192-89, college: ORU) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Monica Bonafede (186-85) who added 9 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Francesca Fabbri (174-88) responded with 18 points and forward Anna Oliva (177-93) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Meccanica NB have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Napoli S.Dike and S. La Spezia. Loser Consum.it Siena still closes the standings with four games lost. Meccanica NB will have a break next round. Consum.it Siena will play at home against Napoli S.Dike (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
