Regular Season Round 5: Visby - Eos 57-60

IK Eos can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Visby Ladies (2-2)on the road game in Visby 60-57. It looked good early as Visby Ladies took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then IK Eos had a 13-7 second period charge getting the lead and Visby Ladies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-60. IK Eos dominated on the defensive end, holding Visby Ladies to just 6 points in third quarter. They were well out of reach of Visby Ladies shooting 82.9 percent from the field. Guard Julia Tornberg (179-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Forward Hanna Isaksson (191-90) contributed with 10 points for the winners. IK Eos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Cobilyn Hill (191-89, college: Houston) answered with 21 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Maltese center Josephine Grima (193-84) added 10 points in the effort for Visby Ladies. IK Eos (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Jarfalla. Visby Ladies at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Udominate and Mark Basket. IK Eos will play against bottom-ranked 08 Stockholm (#12) on the road in the next round. Visby Ladies will have a break next round.
